Coupleats Terms of Service

Overview

These Terms govern your use of Coupleats, a calorie, macro, hydration, weight, activity, partner accountability, meal planning, recipe, community, subscription, and AI-assisted wellness app.

1. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement to use Coupleats. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, your account security, and all activity under your account.

2. Wellness Use Only

Coupleats is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietitian, nutritionist, diagnosis, treatment, emergency, or clinical advice. Calorie targets, macros, food recognition, barcode data, meal suggestions, AI Coach responses, reports, activity estimates, and weight-related summaries are informational wellness features only.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions involving medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, eating disorders, children, urgent symptoms, or major changes to diet, exercise, calories, weight, or nutrition.

3. AI Features

Coupleats may provide AI food photo recognition, AI voice meal logging, AI Coach insights, dinner suggestions, recipe analysis, and related suggestions. AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. You are responsible for reviewing ingredients, allergens, portions, calories, macros, and safety before relying on any output.

AI features are general wellness tools. They should not be used for medical decisions, professional nutrition planning, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency situations.

4. Partner Features and Sharing

Coupleats includes features that let you connect with a partner or accountability pair and share progress, meal logs, reactions, nudges, check-ins, plans, shopping lists, challenges, commitments, free meal pass requests, streaks, XP, and reports. Your partner may see information based on the feature used and your privacy settings. You are responsible for choosing what to share and for respecting your partner's privacy.

5. Community and User Content

Discover and related community features may allow you to view, create, like, or share recipes, tips, insights, images, tags, macros, and preparation details. You are responsible for content you submit. Do not submit unlawful, misleading, harmful, infringing, private, abusive, or unsafe content. We may remove or limit content or access when needed to operate the service, comply with law, or protect users.

6. Free and Premium Features

Coupleats offers both free and premium features. Free access may include basic meal logging, calorie and macro tracking, water tracking, partner pairing, selected AI scans, and selected daily features, subject to limits shown in the app.

Coupleats Plus may unlock premium tools such as unlimited meal logging, AI food photo recognition, AI voice logging, barcode scanning, shared meal plans, synced shopping lists, AI Coach insights, full meal history, advanced trends, weekly reports, bond reports, performance league, and other premium features shown in the app. Available features, limits, and pricing may change over time.

7. Subscriptions and Purchases

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase.
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered by the store, may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, subject to store rules.
Refunds, cancellations, billing disputes, taxes, and renewal rules are handled by the applicable app store or payment provider.

8. Apple Terms

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Coupleats, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with infrastructure, reverse engineer the service, scrape or abuse APIs, upload unlawful or harmful content, harass another user, misrepresent nutrition or health information, or use the app in a way that violates applicable law.

10. Data, Privacy, Export, and Deletion

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. You can update privacy settings in the app and request data export or account deletion from the Privacy screen, Settings screen, or by contacting support.

11. Service Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time. The app may be unavailable due to maintenance, third-party services, network issues, app store review, AI provider limits, subscription provider issues, or other causes.

12. Disclaimers

Coupleats is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that food data, calorie estimates, macro estimates, barcode results, AI outputs, partner sync, notifications, subscriptions, activity data, reports, or community content will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or error-free.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coupleats and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for decisions you make based on app content, estimates, AI outputs, community content, partner activity, or third-party services.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
